Pocket-Sized Keepsake Book

Written by Dr. Lauren Nappen, this pocket-sized accordion book was developed as an engaging retail and giftable item to be sold online, in-office, or included in care packages for clients.

Dr. Nappen approached me to design a format that would support her message in a unique and memorable way. In response, I proposed a custom accordion fold that would allow the content to “unfold”—both physically and metaphorically—enhancing the reader’s sense of discovery.

The intimate 3.25" x 3.25" format fits comfortably in the hand, inviting a quiet, personal moment of reflection. Organic shapes, warm colors, and nature-inspired imagery echo the book’s themes of healing and connection. Flowing typography adds to the rhythm of the experience, drawing the reader gently through the message.

The finished piece includes 20 interior pages plus front and back covers. It was printed offset 4/4 on 100# satin text, scored, folded, and hand-constructed. Covers are printed 4/0 on rigid 120# stock, UV laminated, and mounted. Each book was individually shrink-wrapped for gifting or retail.
